Debut — Privacy Policy

Debut ("we", "us") is a football training app that analyzes training videos to score drills and track player progress. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Debut is operated by Omri Tamir, an independent developer based in Israel, who is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us any time at support@debutfc.com.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, role (player or coach), and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
• Training content: videos you record or upload, and the performance data our analysis produces from them (drill scores, touch counts, timing metrics, progress history).
• Social activity: posts, comments, likes, follows, group membership, and messages you send inside the app.
• Technical data: basic app and device information needed to run the service and fix problems (app version, device type, error reports).

2. How we use it

• To analyze your training videos with automated (AI) models and give you scores, feedback, and progress tracking.
• To operate social features: leaderboards, groups, challenges, and sharing between players and their coaches.
• To secure accounts, prevent abuse, and send essential emails such as password reset codes.
• To improve our analysis models. Training videos and the measurements taken from them may be used to test and improve the models that score drills, so that detection and scoring get more accurate over time. This is internal work on our own models: your videos are not sold, not published, and not handed to anyone for their own purposes. Content belonging to a child profile is never used this way.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. Coaches and players

If you join a coach's group or accept a coach relationship, that coach can see your relevant training results and assigned drill activity. Leaving a group or ending the relationship stops this sharing going forward.

4. Children

You must be at least 13 to create your own Debut account. We ask for your year of birth at sign-up to check this.

Under-13 accounts (parent-managed). A child under 13 can use Debut only through a parent or guardian, who creates a managed child profile under their own account and gives verifiable parental consent (we email a confirmation code to the parent, who approves it in the app). Until the parent consents, the child profile cannot be used.

A child profile is private by design: no public feed posting, videos are visible only to the parent and any coach the parent approves, the child is shown by first name and last initial only on any shared leaderboard, direct messaging is limited to the child's parent and approved coach, and we do not use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking for children.

Parent rights. From Settings → Family a parent can view and export the child's data, delete the child's account, and withdraw (revoke) consent at any time. Revoking consent immediately disables the child profile. If we learn we collected data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we delete it.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of processors to run Debut. They act only on our instructions and never use your data for their own purposes:

• Render — hosting for the backend service and database.
• Cloudflare R2 — storage for your videos and images.
• Resend — delivery of transactional email such as sign-up and password reset codes.
• Sentry — crash and error diagnostics. Request bodies and personal details are excluded before anything is sent.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Free accounts keep a limited number of recent drill results and saved videos: as you record new ones, older entries and their video files are removed automatically. Upgrading raises or removes those limits, but it does not bring back what was already removed.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. Deletion is permanent: your profile, videos, scores, posts, messages, and all other personal data are removed from our systems, including the stored video and image files.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and session tokens on your device are stored in the platform's secure storage (Keychain / Keystore).

8. Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data. Most of this is available directly in the app; for anything else, contact us and we will help.

9. Changes

If we materially change this policy we will update this page and note the new date above.
